Fulfilled Prophecies

Below are listed some prophecies that Jesus Christ fulfilled, which I referenced in my message on February 13, 2012.  This is not an exhaustive list but certainly shows that Jesus Christ was and is indeed the Messiah! 

SOME OF THE PROPHETIC FULFILLMENTS IN JESUS CHRIST 

Genesis 3:15:  He was the Seed of the woman who bruised the serpant’s head

            Fulfillment in Gal. 3:16

Isaiah 7:14 : He was the virgin born son named, Immanuel

             Fulfillment in Matt. 1:25

Micah 5:2: He would be born in Bethlehem

             Fulfillment in Luke 2:4-7

Genesis 12:2-3: He would be a descendant of Abraham

            Fulfillment in Matt 1:1-2

Numbers 24:17:  He would be a descendent of Jacob

             Fulfillment in Matt 1:2

Isaiah 11:1 He would be a descendant of Jesse

             Fulfillment in Matt 1:5-6

Zechariah 9:9 Predicted Jesus would ride into Jerusalem on a donkey

            Fulfillment in Matt 21:2-7

Psalm 41:9 Predicted Judas’ betrayal

             Fulfillment in Matt 26:21-25

Zechariah 11:12 Tells the exact amount of money Judas received for doing it

             Fulfillment in Matt 27:9

 

SPECIFICALLY RELATED TO CRUCIFIXION

Psalm 109:25  Messiah would be a reproach and people would wag their heads at him

Psalm 22:1:  He would cry out, "my God my God why have you forsaken me"

            Fulfillment in Matt 27:46

Psalm 22:18: His executioners would divide His clothing by lot

            Fulfillment in John 19:24, Matt 27:35

Psalm 69:21: He would be given be vinegar and gall for his thirst

             Fulfillment in Mark 15:36, John 19:29

Psalm 31:5:  He would say, “Father into your hands I commit my spirit”

            Fulfillment in Luke 23:46

Zechariah 12:10: Foretold the piercing of His side with a spear

            Fulfillment in John 19:34

Psalm 34:20:  Not one of his bones would be broken

            Fulfillment in John 19:36

Zechariah 12:10: They will look on the one they have pierced

            Fulfillment in John 19:37

Isaiah 53:9: He would be with a rich man in His death

             Fulfillment in Matt 27:57-60, Luke 23:50-53, John 19:38-42

Isaiah 53, Psalm 22, and Numbers 21: Predict crucifixion
