ThuThursdayAprApril21st2011 Weekend Events

Dear Friends,

I hope you are ready for an incredible weekend at Harvest Bible Chapel.

FRIDAY NIGHT AT 7:30 PM

Friday night is going to be an incredible time as we collective remember the significance of the death of Jesus Christ.  Please prepare in prayer and in God’s Word and come ready to experience the power of the Cross.  I promise this will be a service you will not want to miss!

Here are some things to keep in mind for Friday:

· We will start promptly at 7:30 P.M. in the cafeteria at Cherry Creek High School

· There WILL BE Children’s ministry for ages Birth – 5 years old.  Please bring your entire family to this service, as this will be a great opportunity to come and share together.

· If you are in a Small Group and want to sit together that would be great.

· Please wear black or some sort of dark clothes

SUNDAY MORNING AT 10:00 AM

Sunday is going to be an incredible Easter Service!  Please, please, please be prayerful about the work of God this weekend. Many people who will be attending our church have not been in a worship service for years.  Come ready to worship, hear God’s Word and experience His presence.

Here are some things to keep in mind for Sunday:

· We will start promptly at 10:00 AM.  Plan on coming 15 minutes early so that our auditorium will be filled with people who are ready to worship right as our Worship Team begins to lead us.

· Since we are expecting more people than usual please make sure that your children are registered with ample time to spare before our service starts.

· Be willing to give up your seat to one of our guests if it would make their Easter Sunday a better experience.

· Let’s Come ready to sing and celebrate our Lord and Savior’s resurrection from the dead!

FRIDAY FASTING

I will be fasting this Friday until I break my fast with communion at the Good Friday service. If you choose to join me in this fast please be praying for the salvation of souls, the work of the Holy Spirit in our services, and for God to receive all the glory that we as a body of people can give Him.

Please know that you are loved and that I am honored to serve as your pastor.

With great expectation,

Pastor Jeff

ThuThursdayMarMarch10th2011 Daylight Savings Time Change This Week
Hey Friends,

This is just a friendly reminder to set your clocks ahead 1 hour this weekend as we will lose an hour due to Daylight Savings Time.

Church will still start at 10:00 AM, but it may feel like 9:00 A.M. to some of you.

For those of you who are not time conscious, just plan on coming by 9:00 A.M.

Can’t wait to see you there as we Get Real…About Sex and Marriage.

God bless,
Pastor Jeff

ThuThursdayDecDecember23rd2010 Merry Christmas!
Dear Friends,

“She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”  Matthew 1:21

These 3 things came to pass:
1. Mary had a son
2. Joseph named Him Jesus
3. He has and continues to save people from their sins.

OUR GOD IS WORTH CELEBRATING

What an incredible year!  God has been so faithful to us as we have launched HBC Denver and yet we are just getting started.  I believe that God has tremendous plans for our church to impact the nations of the world with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Let's Celebrate our Savior together two times this week.

FRIDAY
Our first opportunity to Worship together will be our CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE this FRIDAY at 4:00 PM in the Cherry Creek High School auditorium. Please plan on bringing your family and friends to this very special service.

***WE WILL NOT HAVE HIGHER GROUND CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DURING OUR CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE BUT WELCOME YOUR CHILDREN TO BE IN ATTENDANCE***

We will have some very special elements of the service including singing of traditional Christmas songs, hearing God's Word, and even listening to live testimonies of how God has already used Harvest Denver to change people's lives.

SUNDAY
Our second opportunity will be during our regular Sunday morning Worship Service at 10:00 AM on Sunday December 26th, where I will be sharing the final message in this series entitled, "Now is the Time...To Persevere in the New Year" from Hebrews 12:1-3.  This will be a very powerful message that I will conclude with us taking communion together for the first time.  We WILL BE having Higher Ground Children's Ministry on that day.

These are two services you will not want to miss!

GENEROSITY

Finally, let me just say thank you to all of you have have been so generous in your financial support of HBC Denver.  We would not have been able to launch and make it through this year without your faithfulness to our Lord with your stewardship.

For those of you wanting to make year end gifts please make sure that they are in our offering, church office or are postmarked by December 31, 2010.
**Donations can be made to Harvest Bible Chapel, 3650 S. Yosemite St., Suite 410, Denver, CO  80237**

May God richly bless you this Christmas!
Pastor Jeff

ThuThursdayDecDecember9th2010 CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE
Dear Friends,

Many of you have been asking about a Christmas Eve service and we have been trying for some time to secure Cherry Creek High School for that day.  We just received word today that we are able to use the facility.  Praise God!

Please plan on attending our special Christmas Eve Service at 4:00 PM on Friday, December 24th.

We will have our regular Sunday morning Worship Service at 10:00 AM on Sunday December 26th, where I will be sharing the final message in this series entitled, "Now is the Time...To Persevere in the New Year".  As we end our services for 2010 we will be taking communion as a Body of Believers together for the first time.  We will be having Higher Ground Children's Ministry on that day.

These are two services you will not want to miss!

May the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ be a rich blessing to you during this Season!

Because He lives,
Pastor Jeff
WedWednesdayDecDecember8th2010 Peak Performance Week 2
Thanks so much for those of you who attended Peak Performance this past weekend after our service.  I had a great time with everyone and am looking forward to completing Peak Week 2 with you this Sunday, December 12th right after our service.

If you have not completed the second session of Peak Performance (Peak Week 2), please plan on attending this week.  You may sign up online, immediately after the Worship Service on Sunday at the Welcome Center, or by calling Nate Dobbins at the church office (720.398.9378).

Peak Performance
is foundational instruction for you being a serving member at HBC Denver and we appreciate the time you are taking to make an investment in yourself and the life of the church.

Even if you were not able to attend Peak Week 1, I would encourage you to attend this weekend for Peak Week 2.  We can then schedule another time for you to be taught the material in Peak Week 1.

I am looking forward to seeing you on Sunday.

God’s richest blessings,
Pastor Jeff

WedWednesdayDecDecember1st2010 Peak Performance
Dear Friends,

This is just a quick note to inform you that I will be teaching Peak Performance after the services these next two Sundays (December 5th and 12th).  If you attended these two sessions during the Launch Team there is no need to retake the class.  However, if you missed either or both weeks of Peak Performance I want to encourage you to attend this time.  After the second week of Peak Performance we will begin conducting membership interviews.  This is simply a short meeting with you and your family to learn a bit more about you and where the Lord is leading you at this time.

December 5th -- Peak Performance Week 1 (Worship & Walk) 12:00 - 1:30 PM
December 12th -- Peak Performance Week 2 (Work & Witness) 12:00 - 1:30 PM

Childcare and lunch will be provided and we will start by noon in the cafeteria.

You can resister online HERE.

Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday!

God's richest blessings,
Pastor Jeff

MonMondayNovNovember22nd2010 Happy Thanksgiving!
Hey Friends,

"Praise the LORD!  Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting."  Psalm 106:1

We have so much to praise and thank our God for this year.  I just wanted to remind you during all the football, turkey eating, friends, and family this week that you take some extra time to thank our Lord for all of the amazing things we have experienced as a church in this short amount of time.

I am so grateful to our God for each and every one of you and count it a huge blessing to serve as your pastor.

May God's name be praised as you celebrate this week.

See you Sunday!
Pastor Jeff

PS  Here's a praise:  We had 38 new people at Party with the Pastors yesterday!
TueTuesdayNovNovember9th2010 A Great Start!
Hey Friends,

I just wanted to send a quick note and let you know how proud I am of each and every one of you that made Sunday such a special day.  The feedback we are receiving from our Launch Sunday has been nothing short of incredible.  Many people could not believe it was our very first service and several have commented that it was the first time they have ever experienced God is such a powerful way.

Thank you so much for allowing God to use you for His glory!  From parking, to greeting, to check-in, to Higher Ground, to the Welcome Center, to ushering, to Worship, and to Preaching the Word, God was making Himself famous.

As in every new endeavor there are and will continue to be several things we will need to improve; however, for a first Sunday it was fantastic!

Sunday was just the start of God making an impact all around the world.  Please continue to pray, invite your friends, and expect God to change lives.

You are loved & appreciated,
Pastor Jeff

Hey Friends,

"...Do not fear! Stand and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today..."  Exodus 14:13

I encourage you to continue to pray and invite people this weekend and expect God to do the miraculous!

May His Name be praised!

For His Glory,

We are so thrilled about all God is doing to make this launch glorifying to Him.

I wanted to let you know our Children's Leadership Team from Higher Ground has put together a gift registry for HBC Denver.  Please know that we will have all the necessities for this week, but we thought it was a good idea to have a way for people to provide some of our wants as God grows this ministry.

Below is a short write up with instructions for anyone who would be interested in giving to this ministry.  This may be a great way to include friends and family from outside the Denver area who want to contribute as well.

MonMondayNovNovember1st2010 Our God is Awesome!
Dear Friends,

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.  Ephesians 3:20-21

You have invested your time, energy, resources, prayer and now it is time to open our doors and launch!

ANSWERED PRAYER:

You need to know that our God has been listening and specifically answering our prayers. When we first started this journey we prayed that God would bring us at least 100 people on our launch team and that we needed $65,000 to meet our goal and launch with excellence.  I shared our goals with you so that you could participate and also celebrate when God answered our prayers.  Friends, He answered!

Yesterday we took a picture by our trailer with 115 people (40 children) and took an offering of $26,916.98 which put us just over $67,000 prior to our launch.  See the picture of our launch team HERE.

Thank you so much for making this church plant a reality.  Your generosity and enthusiasm are contagious and I know that God is just getting started with all he is going to do.

Please continue to pray, invite, and EXPECT God to do amazing things.

Looking forward to this Sunday with Great Anticipation,
Pastor Jeff
FriFridayOctOctober29th2010 Pre-Game
Hey Friends,

Tomorrow is going to be a great day!

We have invested a lot and now it is time to put everything into practice.

Please arrive at the Cherry Creek High School Auditorium no later than 8:30 A.M.  We will be finished no later than 4:30 P.M.

David Eriksson and his team from Church Technologies will be there to give an overview for the day and then train us so that we are ready to go!

When you arrive please bring:
(1) a great attitude
(2) a servant heart
(3) a desire to have some fun!

By the end of tomorrow you will understand our different teams, where you will be serving and how your service will greatly benefit our team.

A couple of things to remember:
(1) Lunch will be provided at no cost to you
(2) We are not providing care for the children tomorrow.  If your kids are at an age where they can help, they are welcome to come and we will put them to work.  However, if they need your constant attention it will not be a very good environment for them.

Tomorrow is just the beginning of a great journey!

Keep praying and I will see you tomorrow.

May God be praised!
Pastor Jeff

ThuThursdayOctOctober14th2010 Attention Children's Ministry Workers!
Hey there,

Just a quick note to let you know there will be NO HIGHER GROUND MEETING FOR LEADERS THIS SATURDAY.

Ricky and I have talked and think the best option going forward is to plan 1 meeting that we will co-lead next week where we will train every LEAD and ANCHOR.  At that meeting we will also distribute curriculum, manuals, fill out background checks, go over check-in procedures and everything else pertaining to Children's Ministry.

My feeling is that if we concentrate everything into 1 meeting it will be far better than having 3 more meetings.

Once this meeting is completed the rest of our training will take place during our day-long training on October 30th at Cherry Creek High School.

Once you receive the date for this upcoming meeting, please do everything you can to be in attendance.

You help is greatly appreciated!

God's richest blessings,
Pastor Jeff

WedWednesdayOctOctober6th2010 Children's Ministry Update
Hey Friends,

Thank you so much to the 18 who attended our HigherGround meeting last night.  The energy was palpable and I know that God is building His Church in a powerful way!  We are so thrilled that Ricky Cassford is going to be our Children's Ministry Coordinator.  His experience, passion, desire for excellence, and his heart for developing leaders for HigherGround is a tremendous blessing to our Launch Team.

May God give us the grace to reach children and their families for Jesus Christ through this ministry!

God's richest blessings,
Pastor Jeff

P.S.  This is a message from Ricky to all who attended last night:

Thank you to every one who attended our first HigherGround meeting!

I am very excited about the opportunity we have, and the caliber of people we have to accomplish it by His grace.

It was wonderful to meet all of you, and I am excited to work with each of you as we begin to implement the philosophy and structure we spoke of last night.  I will be working with Pastor Jeff within the next few days to nail down a few more specifics, as well as begin to put together schedules and plans to get this ministry off the ground.

Both Pastor Jeff and I really appreciate your patience in these last few weeks as many of you have taken care of the children of the launch team with a promise of things to come.  We are nearly there!

I wanted to make sure each of you had my personal e-mail so that we can keep the lines of communication wide open. Please reply to me with any further questions or concerns.  I also would like each of you to let me know, based on the structure we spoke of last night, where you think you might fit best.  Obviously not everyone can be a "hand," but specifically if there is something that you don't do as well (or would rather not do) please let me know.  I had a few ladies come up to me last night and say, "I'm in, whatever you need me to do.  I have..."  and that was great.

Unfortunately I don't have the luxury of knowing everyone of you and your background, so I would really appreciate you letting me know what you feel your strong points are.

We are looking to have another good size step made by this weekend and I will update you accordingly then, if not before.

Again thank you for your heart and your desire to help build into the lives of Christ's Children!

By His grace,
Ricky Cassford

Please know that by attending an Open House no one is assuming that you want to be a part of Harvest Denver and you are not committing to anything. It is simply an opportunity for us to get to know one another and for you to learn how God can use your life for something far greater than you ever dared dreamed or imagined (Eph. 3:20-21).

Please visit our calendar and feel free to invite any friends and/or family that might also be interested.

This week we will be taking our first offering for Harvest Bible Chapel Denver.  If you are a member of the launch team I want to encourage you to be as generous as you can be at this time.  We believe that if everyone our team will give sacrificially, that God will meet our needs and allow us to launch sooner than later. ThuThursdaySepSeptember2nd2010 Reminder -- Castle Rock Open House This Saturday
Hey friends,

Just a quick reminder that this Saturday we will be having an Open House in Castle Rock.  Please be in prayer for this time and plan on bringing people so that they can hear the vision of Harvest and meet some of our team.

This time is geared for those who are curious about Harvest Bible Chapel Denver and would like to meet some of our team, hear the vision and mission, learn more about what we are planning to do, and ask questions.  This meeting will be very casual, fun, and interactive. There will be food following our meeting.

Open Houses are a tremendous opportunity for us to share with others how God can use them in powerful ways right here in our city.

Pray to God, Invite people, and let God do His work.

OPEN HOUSE DETAILS
HOSTS: Jim and Shelley Kirk
ADDRESS: 2085 Trailblazer Way, Castle Rock, CO 80109
TIME: 4:00-5:30 PM

MonMondayAugAugust30th2010 1st Castle Rock Open House Details
"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." -- Philippians 1:3-6

Dear Friends,

Last night I left our Launch Team meeting with incredible gratitude to our Lord for assembling such an incredible team of people.  I hope throughout the night as you met people on our team, that you too realized that God is up to something great.  I am so excited that each one of you is an integral part of this this team.  It is an honor for me to call myself your pastor and my greatest desire is to encourage you to grow to your fullest potential in Jesus Christ.

Here are the most important things you can be doing:
1. PRAY -- Keep praying daily and regularly for Harvest Denver.  God is the One doing the work, not us.
2. STUDY GOD'S WORD -- Be in tune to what God is doing by listening to, reading, and studying His Word.
3. LIVE OBEDIENTLY -- Be willing to do whatever the Lord shows you.
4. GIVE GENEROUSLY -- Give generously to the Lord through Harvest Denver.  CLICK HERE to learn how.
5. INVITE FRIENDS TO OUR OPEN HOUSES -- Please bring as many friends as you can to our Open Houses.

1st OPEN HOUSE IN CASTLE ROCK (In the Meadows)
HOSTS:

Jim and Shelley Kirk
2085 Trailblazer Way
Castle Rock, CO  80109
TIME: 4:00-5:30 PM
DATE: Saturday September 4, 2010
FOOD, ETC.: Jim and Shelley will have food following the Open House, but it would be helpful if you can let them know how many people you are expecting to come.  Please email Shelley at shelleykirk23@gmail.com or call at 303.955.4272

If you live in Castle Rock, please come and bring your friends!  Even if you can't make it send your friends anyway.  An Open House will not obligate anyone but will give us a chance to share the vision of Harvest Denver.  The Open Houses are vital to us building our Launch Team so that we will have the capacity to launch Harvest Denver with excellence.

FUTURE OPEN HOUSES:

We do have hosts for an Open House in Thornton and in Littleton. I will be in touch soon with dates and times for those locations.

Even if you are not planning to attend the Open House this weekend or are unable to come, you can still be a vital part by praying all week that God will bring us the right people to help us launch.  Why not spend 1 minute RIGHT NOW and ask God to help us assemble the right people who are compelled, contagious, and committed to Harvest Denver?

Please know that you are loved!

God's richest blessings,
Pastor Jeff

TueTuesdayAugAugust24th2010 Our God Can Still Move Moutains
"I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth." Psalm 121:1-2

This past week at our Launch Team meeting we studied the importance of firmly believing in the power of prayer.  I just want to encourage you to continue praying and seeking the Lord to build His church in Denver.  Jesus Christ is the leader of Harvest Denver and desires to see people reached with the Gospel and growing as fully engaged disciples. Reaching our city for Jesus Christ may sound like an impossible task, but our God is a God who can and will move mountains.  May His grace overwhelm us as we continue to seek Him.

I just want to let each one of you know that I am personally very excited about all that God is doing and stand amazed at the caliber of people that we continue to meet.  Our Launch Team is filled with people who are compelled, contagious, and committed to seeing God do an amazing work that will have a tremendous impact in the Denver Metro area.

OPEN HOUSES
We are looking to get 3 or 4 Open Houses scheduled immediately so that we can begin to invite people who are not currently part of our launch team.  While we have a great Launch Team we need to grow that group with people who are compelled, contagious, and committed to the vision of Harvest Denver.  Some of these people who attend our Open Houses will become part of our Launch Team, others will begin to attend once we begin public services, and others will simply become aware of our vision and desire to make fully engaged disciples.  I would love to have at least 1 scheduled in Castle Rock, 1 in the Littleton, Highlands Ranch area, and 1 in Thornton within the next couple of weeks.  Please contact me if you are interested in hosting.

NEXT LAUNCH TEAM MEETING
4:00-5:30 PM Sunday August 29, 2010
The Pinnacle at DTC
5335 S. Valentia Way
Greenwood Village, CO  80111

This week our focus will be on building relationships.  Our time together will be very interactive and will give you the opportunity to know people on our launch team better than you ever expected.  You will not want to miss this opportunity of going deeper with the Lord and one another.  I can promise you based on past experience that you will love what we are going to do on Sunday.  Please note: Because of what we are going to be doing it is very important that we start on time.

Please know that I am praying for you and if can be of any help please don't hesitate to contact me.

God's richest blessings,
Pastor Jeff

FriFridayAugAugust20th2010 Here We Go!
Hey Friends,

"Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain."  Psalm 127:1

The train has left the station.  Last Sunday night we embarked on our journey of planting Harvest Bible Chapel Denver with 28 adults and 17 children.  We could not be more excited about the people that God is bringing together and are encouraged by all that we are seeing Him do.  Jesus Christ is at work building His Church in Denver and we are looking forward to partnering with Him.

This week our launch team will meet again on:
SUNDAY from 4:00-5:30 PM
at THE PINNACLE AT DTC
5335 S. VALENTIA WAY
GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO 8011

PLEASE REMEMBER TO PARK ON THE 5TH FLOOR AND COME TO THE GYMNASIUM ON THE FIRST FLOOR.

(Once we have prayed over our kids, our adults will move to a second floor room -- so that we can actually hear each other talk).

This week we will begin to talk more specifically about Harvest DNA and what is going to need to be accomplished as we move forward.

Please be very prayerful this week and come with an open heart and a willingness to serve.  God is assembling a great team and we are so thrilled to be a part of it.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT FROM THIS POINT FORWARD OUR LAUNCH TEAM MEETINGS ARE DESIGNED FOR THOSE WHO ARE COMPELLED, CONTAGIOUS, AND COMMITTED TO BEING A PART OF HARVEST DENVER.  IF YOU STILL ARE UNSURE, PLEASE CONTACT ME (PASTOR JEFF) OR PLAN ON ATTENDING ONE OF OUR UPCOMING OPEN HOUSES (DATES WILL BE FORTHCOMING).

May God richly bless you,
Pastor Jeff

FriFridayAugAugust13th2010 Launch Team Details & Challenges
Dear Friends,

Our house is packed and empty, the moving van is full, and we are on our way to Denver!

We are so excited to see you and begin this journey which we have been talking about for some time now.

Here are some details that I hope will be helpful.  Read the entire email as you will also see some challenges we need to address.  These challenges are no big deal and I know that our Launch Team will be ready and eager to meet them head on.

LOCATION AND TIME
Sunday August 15, 2010 from 4:00-5:30 PM
The Pinnacle at DTC (This is an apartment complex)
5335 S. Valentia Way
Greenwood Village, CO  80111

We will be meeting in the GYMNASIUM (located on the first floor).

We have been told that the best place to park is in the parking deck which is located behind the entrance to the apartment.  Please park on the 5TH FLOOR  (Top Floor) because all other floors belong to others and you may be towed.  Again park on the 5TH FLOOR and take elevators to the first floor.

We are going to do our best to put up signage to get you to the GYM but if you get lost call my cell at 309.648.9838.  From my recollection of our quick tour, I believe the GYM is located on the NorthEast side of the building.

Sound Challenging?  Maybe even inconvenient?  You'll do great.  It's all part of the adventure!

TWO OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:
CHILDREN: PLEASE BRING THEM!!!  At this meeting we will be making some decisions about how we are going to make our Sunday nights special for children.  Please know we have several people on our launch team who are passionate about Jesus and children and I know that God has this all under control.  Just a side note: Jesus loves children too and they are as much of this launch team as any parent and we value them deeply.  I understand you have logistical and philosophical questions about all of this.  I am glad you do.  Just come and bring your children.

CHAIRS
I have managed to locate about 17 folding chairs, but if everyone shows up that we are expecting that will leave us far shy of everyone getting a seat.  Therefore I encourage you to bring either camping chairs, folding chairs, etc. for you so that you will have a very comfortable place to sit.

Are you excited yet?  You should be!  This is going to be an absolute blast and I am honored to be taking this journey with you.

Friends, if you have any questions please call me at 309.648.9838.  Otherwise, I look forward to seeing you this Sunday!

God's richest blessings,
Pastor Jeff
WedWednesdayAugAugust11th2010 First Launch Team Meeting This Sunday August 15th
Dear Friends,

I have been looking forward to this moment for the past year!  This Sunday at 4:00 PM we will begin our weekly launch team meetings that will lead to the start of Harvest Bible Chapel Denver.  Kimberly and I are finishing our packing today (Wednesday) and the moving truck will arrive on Thursday to move us to Denver.  Even though there are significant challenges and changes taking place in our lives we are passionate and thrilled about the opportunities that lie ahead of us.  We firmly believe through prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit that God is at work doing more than we could ever dream or even imagine.

LOCATION
The Pinnacle at DTC
5335 S. Valentia Way
Greenwood Village, CO 80111
(I will send out another email about directions to the specific location at the apartment complex later this week)

TIME
4:00-5:30 PM

DATE
Meeting every Sunday beginning this weekend on August 15th

SOME THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND ABOUT LAUNCH TEAM MEETINGS
1. This is going to be a blast!
2. You are going to get connected to some terrific people.
3. You will have significant potential to grow in your faith.

WHAT TAKES PLACE AT THESE MEETINGS?

Every week will be a little different, but 3 components will always be present:
1. Inspiration: Through God's Word, God's people, and prayer you will leave inspired to be a part of this team.
2. Installation: Each week we will talk a little more about Harvest Denver's philosophy of ministry so that you will gain a greater understanding of where we are going.  Since every one of us comes from varied backgrounds and different experiences, it is important that everyone on our team not only understands but owns our distinctives, doctrine, and direction.  As we continue our journey we will also be doing some training which you will not only find valuable for service in the church, but will also find helpful in your daily lives.
3. Information: I will keep you up to date on everything that is happening (which right now is very significant) and answer any questions you have.

SOME THINGS THAT WILL HELP EVERYONE ON THE TEAM
1. Please be on time (or come early if you would like).  It is so important that we create a culture that starts on time.  Since this will be our first meeting, give yourself some extra time for parking and finding our location.  Trust me when I say I understand how difficult this is (especially with a family), but it will be very helpful to everyone involved.
2. Please bring a Bible.
3. Remember this is not an Open House.  While you are welcome to visit, the entirety of our time on Sunday afternoons is not designed to convince you to be a Launch Team member, but rather is geared for those who are called of God to be part of the Launch Team for Harvest Denver.
4. Prepare your heart and mind through prayer for our meeting as we cannot accomplish our vision without the help of God.
5. If God is calling you to be a part of the Launch Team please plan on attending ALL Launch Team meetings.  I understand there may be some exceptions to this, but if being at the meetings is not a priority in your life, then the Launch Team is probably not the best place for you to serve at this time.

If you have any questions about anything at all please email me or call me at the numbers below.

I am looking forward to the beginning of a great journey with you.  May God be made famous and may He use Harvest Denver to make disciples all around the world.

God's richest blessings,
Pastor Jeff

WedWednesdayAugAugust4th2010 Denver, Here We Come!
Friends,

We are so excited to let you know that we are packing and by God's grace will be arriving as a family in Denver next week.  There are so many challenges and details to work out as we move, but deep inside we could not be more excited about what we are seeing God build in Denver and cant wait to be a part of it!

BIG NEWS:  We have secured CHERRY CREEK HIGH SCHOOL in Greenwood Village for our meeting place for when we launch the church.  We could not be more excited about the location.  The school affords us great facilities for Worship & Children's Ministry as well as Excessive Parking, and close proximity to I25.  We had prayed to God to secure a location for our launch before August 1st, and once again, our God answered our prayers.  All praise to HIm!

LAUNCH TEAM:  Because our house is still on the market we will be moving into an apartment in the Denver Tech Center.  We will be using our apartment complex for our weekly launch team meetings which we plan to start on Sunday, August 15th from 4:00 - 5:30 PM  These weekly meetings will give us some time in the Word, prayer, and team-building as we get ready to lauch.  Each meeting will be very important as we hope to launch 12 weeks after our first meeting.

Here is our apartment address:
Pinnacle at DTC
5335 S. Valentia Way
Greenwood Village, CO 80111

I will be sending more information regarding launch team very soon.

CONTINUED PRAYER:  For some time I have firmly believed in the power of prayer, however, during this stage of my life I have come to rely more on prayer than ever before.  I would encourage, ask, and even beg you to pray regularly for Harvest Denver and all that the Lord has for us.  "For unless the Lord builds the house, his laborers labor in vain." Psalm 127:1  We are simply participating in Jesus Christ building His church and need to allow Him to build it in His way.  Let's ask the Lord to do a mighty work in Denver.  May Jesus Christ be made famous through Harvest Bible Chapel Denver!

Our love and prayers go out to every one of you and look forward to partnering with you soon!

God's richest blessings,
Pastor Jeff

Yes!  This is one more opportunity for our launch team to connect with one another and also give us an opportunity to meet other people who want to learn about our church plant.  While this will not be a full-blown Open House we will have a chance to share the vision with those who come.

You do not have to RSVP in order to attend, but it would be helpful to the Stifflers if you would contact them if you are coming so that we have enough food.

Hey Friends,

I just wanted to let you know that our Worship Pastor, Marty Magehee, will be in Denver next week and we would like to give you the opportunity of personally meeting him and his wife, Sheri.  Marty and Sheri will be moving their family of five to Denver very soon and we would appreciate you making them feel as welcome as you have made us.

Whether you are on the launch team or just checking things out this will be a very encouraging night.  IT WILL ALSO BE A GREAT NIGHT TO BRING FRIENDS.  PLEASE INVITE PEOPLE!!!

***Remember, attending an Open House does not obligate you to be a part of anything.  It is simply a chance to meet people and learn more about Harvest Denver.***

Follow Road to Stop sign and make a left on Forest Keep Circle
Follow Road to 7905

I wanted to let all of you know that we have been seeing God's favor all over this plant and look forward to personally sharing next Thursday all that God is doing.  In order to keep this short I thought I would answer six of the most common questions we have been receiving.

"HEY PASTOR JEFF, WHAT IS YOUR TIME FRAME FOR MOVING TO DENVER?
"
I will be in Denver with my family (Kimberly, Brooke and TJ) from the evening of July 6th until the 22nd.  Our purpose in coming is to continue to build relationships with people that we have met and hopefully several new ones as well.  At this point in time we are planning on moving to Denver in August even if our house has not sold yet.

WHERE IS THE CHURCH GOING TO BE LOCATED?
Through several trips to Denver and seeking the Lord, we believe that the Denver Tech Center area is where will be holding our public worship services.  We are very close to securing a location in that area and will let you know the location as soon as we have completed the contracts.  We are very excited as it has always been our ambition to be a regional church and the Denver Tech Center fits our vision nicely.  We already have members on our Launch Team as far South as Castle Rock and as far North as Thornton.

WHY ARE ALL THE OPEN HOUSES IN PARKER?
I have known Brock for nearly 30 years and he and his wife, Becky, have been incredibly generous in opening their house so that we can meet.  Rest assured we will have Open Houses in different locations as we move forward.

WHAT PROGRESS HAVE YOU MADE SO FAR?
We are amazed that since March 4th we have 20 people committed to our launch team and we are talking to nearly 50 other people who are considering their level of involvement with us.  We also believe that we are close on securing a location for our public worship services. Also, we are discovering through ever person we meet in Denver that our vision for making Fully Engaged Disciples is desperately needed.

WHEN DO WE START MOVING FORWARD?
Once our family relocates from Illinois in August our "Launch Team" will begin to meet regularly.  At these meetings we will worship, study God's Word and begin to train people in many different roles so that we can be ready for our first public service.  Our hope is to locate these meetings near or in the Denver Tech Center so that we can be meeting close to where our church is going to be.  During that stage of development we will be asking Launch Team members to host Open houses (in addition to our regular Launch Team Meetings) in their homes so that we can be sharing the vision of Harvest Denver with people from different communities.

HOW CAN I HELP?

The best way that you can help is to become a member of our launch team.  If you are compelled by our vision, willing to be committed with your time, gifts, and financial resources, and you are contagious in telling others about Harvest Denver then we welcome you to be a part of our launch.  We have been praying for 100 adults on our team before we launch (To learn more CLICK HERE).
Perhaps you are too busy right now to help in this capacity but could introduce us to other people, encourage us with your words, or make a financial contribution (To make a financial contribution CLICK HERE).

I want you to know that we are extremely excited about Harvest Denver and know that God is going to blow us away with His goodness.  The need for another God-honoring, Gospel Preaching, Sprit-Filled, Disciple-Making Church in Denver is desperately needed so keep praying!  Prayer will always be the foundation of Harvest Denver.  Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." Matthew 9:37-38

Have a Happy Fourth of July!

God's richest blessings to you,
Pastor Jeff

ThuThursdayJunJune17th2010 Quick Update
"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen."  Hebrews 11:1

Hey Friends,

Last year when our family began to entertain the idea of planting a Harvest Bible Chapel we had no idea of where God would lead us or how God would work out all the details.  While God is still working out all the details we are more convinced than ever that God is leading us to Denver.  This past week we had two more Denver families commit to our launch team and have begun to talk to several other people in Denver who are considering the possibilities.  To still be living in Illinois and see God's hand at work in Denver already is a great encouragement to us!

I just learned yesterday that a friend will be flying Aaron Carnahan and I to Denver on Monday.  We will be in Denver until Friday morning.  While it will be impossible for us to see each of you while we are in Denver, it is our sincere hope to connect with as many of you as time will allow and share more about what God is doing in building His church.  We may even be able to put together an Open House.  If we do I will send you another email with location, date, and time.  If you are already a part of our Launch Team and would like to host an Open House either next week or in the future please respond to me so that we can set it up.

Please continue to pray.  We are seeing God at work in our prayers.  Here are some very specific prayer requests for all of you:
1. The sale of our home and the homes of those relocating.  As soon as our house sells we will move to Denver.
2. The location for our church services when we launch.  We have been working very diligently at this and have a few possiblities.  Pray that the Lord makes it very clear to us.
3. For God to continue to build our launch team.  We have been praying for 100 adults before we open our doors and believe this is a very realisitic goal.
4. Praise Him that the finances continue to come in to be able to meet all of our needs!
5. Seek Him for your level of involvement with Harvest Bible Chapel.

We have uploaded a couple of messages from a few different churches I have spoken at recently on our website (www.harvestdenver.org).  To go directly to the page on our website with these messages CLICK HERE.

I also want to let you know that our Worship Pastor, Marty Magehee and his wife Sheri, will be out in Denver from July 8-11 and we are in the process of putting an Open House together so that you can meet them.  They are incredible people who have a heart for God and for serving His people.  As soon as we send you the details for that Open House make sure to put it on your calendar as you wont want to miss seeing them.

I greatly appreciate your patience with us as organizing trips from Illinois at times makes it difficult at times to have "exact" plans in adavance, but know that God is at work building His church and we could not be more excited to be a part of it!  Please know that we are praying for you and look forward to God leading you to take greater steps of faith in your journey with Him. If there is ever any way I can be an encouragement to you, please let me know.

God's richest blessings,
Pastor Jeff
